The Academy of Health Care Professions is committed to empowering individuals with the skills to succeed in a rewarding career in the allied health care fields. Knowledge and proficiency are attained through demonstration; actual operation of equipment; and practice of learned techniques within the actual health care workplaces of potential employers. The Academy of Health Care Professions’ roots date back to 1953 with the founding of MacGregor Medical Association (MMA) by physicians in what is now the world renowned Texas Medical Center. MMA operating as a physician practice in ultimately some 42 locations identified a need in 1988 to provide quality training from a medical point of view for their own employee’s skills to be utilized by their expanding physicians practices.
