Porter and Chester Institute has campus locations in Connecticut and Massachusetts. In Connecticut the Porter and Chester Institute is located in Enfield, Stratford, Watertown, and Wethersfield. In Massachusetts the campus is in Chicopee. Porter and Chester Institute is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT) and the American Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Porter and Chester Institute began in 1946 with the founding of the Porter School of Engineering Design in Hartford, Connecticut. Porter and Chester Institute participates in a wide range of financial aid programs with Federally sponsored Title IV student financial aid is available for those who qualify. Students that qualify might receive grants, student loans, and scholarships. In 1973, the Porter School and the Chester Institute for Technical Education of Stratford, Connecticut, became one institution. Subsequently, the name Porter and Chester Institute was adopted, and the curricula contents and operational policies of the two institutions were standardized. At the same time, the Porter School, which was located in Rocky Hill Connecticut, became the Rocky Hill Campus of the Porter and Chester Institute. Federally sponsored Title IV student financial aid is available for those who qualify. This consists of programs such as: Pell Grants, Federal Direct Student Loans, Stafford Loans, and Grants. As part of the student's program, Porter and Chester Institute is responsible for helping each graduate get situated in the kind of job for which he or she has been prepared. This includes resume preparation, training in job search and career management, securing interviews, and interview presentation and tactics.
