Medical Coding Careers

Medical Coding Schools teach students to work with patient records, medical intervention documents, reports on surgeries, and the results of examinations, converting them into electronic records. The learn to assemble patients’ health information by first making sure their initial medical charts are complete. They are taught to ensure that all forms are completed and properly identified and signed, and that all necessary information is in the computer. 

 

Students are taught a variety of computer software, forms, and procedures for performing the job of medical coding specialist. Medical Coding Schools offer degree and diploma programs. Schools are located in the US, Canada, and Online. Training in office administrative and specialized medical records and health information skills, including Coding & Billing procedures, enables you to fill a number of entry-level positions. These include: Administrative Assistant or Medical Coder or Medical Insurance Biller.

 

Classes in this Program will nclude: MS Office, Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Billing & Insurance, Medical Ethics and Law, Pharmacology, ICD-9 Coding, CPT-4 non-Surgical and Surgical Coding.
