Everest Institute part of the Everest Institute dchools started in 1960 as the Los Angeles Colleges of Medical and Dental Assistants. The El Monte campus originally began in 1968. The National Education Corporation obtained the schools in 1975 and subsequently changed the name to National Education Center - Everest Campus. The school has 2 campus locations in Massachusetts, 1 campus location in Ohio, and the Eagan, Minnesota campus. While not every educational program is available at every campus, Everest Institute offer training in a wide variety of healthcare career options. The financial aid office of Everest Institute helps students find ways to finance their education. Students that qualify will be able to receive a diverse grouping of grants, student loans, and possiblely scholarships. This service is offered free to those who register. Everest Institute maintains an active placement service to assist graduates in locating entry-level, educationally related career opportunities. The Career Services Office works directly with business, industry, and advisory board members to assist in each student's access to the marketplace and, as a by-product of this endeavor, assists employers in meeting their employment needs. Education Programs
Dental Assisting: The dental assisting program at Everest Institute readies the student for an entery level position as a dental assistant. Students learn Administrative procedures, dental radiography, dental sciences, operative dentistry, laboratory procedures, dental heatlh, and dental specialties. Training is a mix of classroom study and hands-on training. At the completion of the formal studies all dental assisting students complete a 160-hour externship.
Massage Therapy: The massage therapy program readies students for employment as a massage therapist in a number of healthcare settings, including medical and rehabilitation clinics, hospitals, and doctors´ and chiropractors´ offices. Opportunities also exist in health spas, hotels, fitness centers, sports organizations, tourist destinations, and cruise ships. There is the possibility of going into private practice as well. Students learn general bio-science, psychology, therapeutic massage, deep tissue sculpting, sports massage, traumatology, and personal fitness and nutrition.
Medical Administration: The Medical Administrative Assistant program provides students with the skills necessary to manage the day-to-day operations of a medical facility. Office management and technical ability are vital parts of the professional office environment. Students learn accounting, computer applications, medical terminology, medical lwa anthics, communications, and medical transcription.
Medical Assisting: The training program at Everest Institute in Medical Assisting prepars students to maintain the highest quality of patient care; take vital signs, run laboratory and diagnostic tests, all while utilizing your organization, communication and management skills. Gain employment in a hospital, clinic, doctor´s office, nursing home, medical supply business, home healthcare agency, insurance company or pharmaceutical company. The curriculum includes classroom study, hands-on trianing, and an externship.
Medical Coding: Medical billing and its related occupations are among the fastest growing opportunities in the healthcare industry. This program offers simulated practice where you manually and electronically prepare insurance claims. You will practice interviewing and documenting skills to obtain the necessary patient information for successfully completing and managing claims.
Pharmacy Technician: Students will develop strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills needed to interact with patients, co-workers and healthcare professionals. They will gain strong mathematical, organizational and technical skills needed to count and measure medication, manage inventories, and complete pharmaceutical dosage forms. It is essential that you can recognize, spell, define, and use appropriate medical terminology, words and abbreviations. Pharmacy Technicians can gain positions in both healthcare facilities and retail establishments including: hospitals, medical centers, outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, and pharmacies.
