Colorado School of Trades - Horse The horseshoeing program uses hands-on techniques to teach the student all aspects of the Farrier business; from anatomy to keg shoes to corrective shoeing to handmade shoes, including the necessary forge work and everything in-between. It is a complete program. At the Colorado School of Trades - Horseshoeing the Farrier Trade can be learned in 4 1/2 months, the Colorado School of Trades can teach students this money-making trade and prepare them to start your own business.The Farrier program is designed for the serious student. Much of the lab work is performed on live animals located either in the schools fully equipped Farrier shop, or on location at one of the many customers in the Denver/ Boulder/ Golden area. The Colorado School of Trades - Horseshoeing participates in the PELL Grant and FFEL Loan Programs. In each of these programs, an award is given based upon the financial and family situation of the prospective student.
