Baking and Pastry Schools

A Baking and Pastry specialty is a separate career path for those wanting to work in the culinary arts. The Baking & Pastry diploma is only available at a few schools in the US. Another name for this degree at the Le Cordon Bleu baking schools is Le Cordon Bleu Patisserie and Baking certificate. The schools offering degrees or training in baking and pastry preparation normally do this in conjunction with a culinary arts training program. There are some exceptions. Typically these baking and pastry schools will offer some type of training program beyond the education. Typically the baking and pastry school will place the graduate in some type of internship or advanced training program. This is where the student will learn how to apply the baking and pastry education in a real job situation.
