Automotive Schools and Training Programs prepare students for a variety of occupations within the automotive service industry. This is a rapidly expanding industry with the increasing complexity of today’s automobile; large retirements among trained automotive technicians; and the increasing number of cars per household in the USA and Canada. These factors are combining to create a fast growing filed which is in need of qualified workers. This has created an an opportunity for high paying entry level jobs for those qualified for work in the automotive service industry. There are many different entry points for skilled workers in the automotive service industry for those trained in automotive technology, diesel technology, Ford MLR, high performance automotive technology, to name a few. Automotive Technology: Automotive Technology Schools prepare students for employment as automotive service technicians, mechanics, and qualifying for NATEF/ASE Master Certification. The automotive schools will train students to work with a large variety of equipment, troubleshoot mechanical and technical automotive problems, and repairing automotive components. Schools differ in how much hands on training is part of the program. Diesel/Heavy Vehicle Technology: Training programs in Diesel Technology teach all aspects from tractors and trailers to off the road construction equipment, and marine power plants. These schools prepare students for employment within the diesel and marine service industry. The training programs consist of a mix of “hands on” and class room training. Training programs are available throughout the USA and Canada. This career path is expected to experience faster than average growth leading to good employment opportunities and strong earning potential.

Ford MLR Training: The Ford MLR (Maintenance and Light Repair) program is an alliance among Ford Motor Company and various community colleges and automotive technical schools. The MLR training program gives you access to opportunities in profitable and rewarding careers. Advanced Technology has incorporated the Ford MLR Training into its’ curriculum. ATI automotive students will be trained to universal (all-brands) standards of NATEF-ASE (in a NATEF-Master Certified School) and in addition will have the opportunity to receive this highly specialized Ford training.

High Performance: The High Performance Schools provide students with the knowledge and skills required for entry-level employment as a repair technician in a modern performance shop and pit crew positions on the racing circuits. Students at these high performance schools will receive laboratory and classroom training using modern test equipment and specialized tools and gain hands-on experience in a realistic shop setting where they must demonstrate specific proficiencies and safety procedures.
