Ashmead College is the Pacific Northwest's leader in quality health and wellness training. The school was founded in 1974 as the Seattle Massage School. In 1999 the school began operating under the Ashmead College name. Campus locations are located in Washington in the cities of Everett, Seattle, Fife, and Vancouver. Ashmead College also operates in Portland Oregon. The school offers training in Massage Therapy, Aromatherapy, and fitness trainer. These programs prepare students for careers in a fast growing sector of the healthcare industry. The school operates a financial aid department to help students meet the
financial aspects of getting their education. Aid is available to qualified applicants and may consist of grants, student loans, and financing. Ashmead students may be

Professional Licensing (Massage Therapy): Students are given the training they need to begin their career in
Massage Therapy. Training combines both classroom and "hands on" training. Students learn from experienced instructors in a clinic like
environment. Graduates of the massage program have a wide array of career options. Many choose to create and run their own massage practice while others choose to work in massage clinics, rehabilitative clinics, chiropractic offices, spas and resorts, with sports teams and as sponsors of sporting events.
Professional Licensing and Spa and Aromatherapy: This trains the students to start a career in Aromatherapy. Graduates of the Aromatherapy and Spa program are thoroughly versed in the history of Aromatherapy, the botany and chemistry of essential oils, the blending techniques of thirty essential oils, as well as spa therapies. This specialty can be used to enhance a massage practice, in complementary fields such as nursing or simply on its own.
Fitness Trainer Program: This training program gives students the training they need to start a career as a Fitness Trainer. Graduates of the Fitness Trainer Program are prepared for careers in health and fitness centers, YMCA & YWCA fitness programs, athletic training facilities, and as personal trainers. Specific courses within the program ready graduates for careers working with elderly, disabled and other specialized segments of the populations. The Fitness Trainer Program prepares students to become successful in the fitness industry.
