Administrative Assistant: The program teaches students the skills necessary to function in varied office positions ranging from clerical and administrative to office manager. Attention is given to data entry, spreadsheets, bookkeeping, business English and math, accounting and payroll procedures and career development, among other things. The program is offered at the Forty Fort and Scranton, PA campus locations.
Dental Assisting: The Dental Assistant diploma program at Allied Medical & Technical School is designed to prepare students for entry level dental assistant positions assisting the dentist chair side. The chair side dental assistant mixes and prepares dental impression and restorative materials, evacuates excess materials from the oral cavity, and prepares the area for procedures including instrument tray and anesthesia set-ups as required by the dentist. The chair side assistant exposes, processes and mounts dental radiographs (x-rays). The chair side assistant may also perform dental instrument sterilization duties and prepare cases to be sent to an outside laboratory.
ECG/Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant: Students are taught firsthand the skills necessary to assist physicians with patient care. Graduates from this program learn to operate ECG machines to obtain 12 lead ECG tracings, draw blood and other bodily fluids for lab work and perform necessary tests to help with patient diagnosis and treatment. Legal Secretary: Allied Medical & Technical Institute prepares students to function in a law office or legal setting, performing computer, secretarial and administrative duties for attorneys and their legal staff. Students are taught proper law office procedures, basic legal terminology and public communication skills. Massage Therapy: The Massage Therapy diploma program offers classroom instruction in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. Students are also taught hands-on training in the student clinic, where they put the training and knowledge of massage therapy to work. Graduates from the Massage Therapy program, will be ready to sit for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork examination. Students learn the skills necessary to function in the laboratory, assist physicians with patient care and perform basic medical office skills like billing and bookkeeping. Training for this career is offered at the Forty Fort and Scranton campus locations.
Medical Billing: In this career training program students receive training to assist physicians in making sure procedures are correctly identified and billed. They work in doctors’ offices, medical facilities, insurance companies, corporate offices, pharmacies or from home. They will also be prepared to work in the administrative capacity of a medical office. This program is only offered at the Wayne, NJ Campus.
Medical Transcriptionists: Training is given to students in Medical Transcriptionists program so they can accurately report the physician’s findings and document all treatments and diagnoses. They are also trained in Insurance Billing Specialists learning to ensure procedures are properly covered through insurance claims. Pharmacy Technician: The Pharmacy Technician training program prepares students to work in a hospital or retail pharmacy.
