ACT or Advanced Career Training provides training and education to adults in healthcare, business, and technology. Campus programs are located in Atlanta, Georgia, Jacksonville, Florida, and Riverdale, Georgia. Students can study to become a medical assistant, dental assistant, business office administration, and computer system technician. All campus locations for ACT Advanced Career Training offer various types of financial aid, including grants, work study programs, subsidized student loans, and unsubsidized student loans. Placement assistance is available to graduates at all campus locations. The curriculum is designed to give students the maximum skills possible to be be successful in their job search upon graduation. Each campus is equipped with the equipment and supplies required to conduct programs in a "real-world" setting. Laboratories are modern with each workstation simulating the work environment students will encounter in their specialized field.
Training Programs
Business Office Administration: Starting a career in a professional office requires the right skills to succeed. The program offered by ACT prepares students to be successful in this career. Students learn business communications, information technology, accounting and finance, customer service, records management, marketing, human resources, and office software. Graduates are prepared for a career as a office manager, executive assistant, administrative assistant, and customer service representative.
Computer Systems Technician: In todays business climate, nearly every business relies on heavily computers. If you enjoy computers, working with your hands, installing and repairing things, the NT field is perfect for you. In just eight months, ACT will prepare you with the computer skills necessary to work in practically any industry. Students learn system architecture, dos applied computing, windows, networking, and directory service infrastructure.
Dental Assisting: In the dental assisting program students learn dental science, chair side assisting, dental radiography, laboratory skills, preventative dentistry, and administrative assistant skills. The ACT program prepares gra duates for a career asa dental x-ray technician, dental assistant, dental office manager, dental receptionist, or chair side/surgical assistant. This program can be completed in 8 months.
Medical Assisting: The medical assisting training program at ACT Advanced Career Training teaches the students emergency medical procedures, CPR and First Aid, Injections, vein Puncture, Medical Billing and Collections, minor surgical techniques, and other skills which will help in their new career. Graduates are prepared for a career as a medical assistant, clinical assistant, medical receptionist, medical coding, and medical administration. Students can earn a diploma in just 8 months.
