The Milan Institute offers medical and office career training with flexible training designed to benefit active people. Classes are given days, evenings, and on the weekends to allow for all schedules and time constraints. Campuses for the Milan Institute are located in Indio, La Mesa, San Marcos California; Boise Idaho; and Amarillo Texas.

The Milan Institute offers programs that can be completed in a short amounts of time with flexible schedules that will appeal to working adults. We know education is essential to succeed, but sometimes becomes secondary to more important obligations. So creating a more flexible schedule with day and evening classes available became an important obligation for us. This is part of Milan Institute' commitment to the success of the students.
Training Programs
Administrative Medical/Dental Assistant: The Administrative Medical/Dental Assistant training program is designed to prepare students to enter the health profession as an administrative medical/dental assistant. Graduates will be able to function at the entry-level in a variety of settings including, but not limited to, medical offices, dental offices, hospitals and medical clinics. Graduates are also trained in medical/dental insurance coding and billing procedures.
Dental Assisting: The Dental Assistant program is designed to prepare students to enter the health profession field as a dental assistant. Graduates will be able to function at an entry-level position in a dental office setting. The program covers a variety of topics including operational procedures, inventory control, records management and assisting the Dentist during the examination and treatment of patients. The Amarillo and Boise campuses offer this program.
Holistic Health Practitioner: The Holistic Health Practitioner program is designed to give the student the advanced training and skills necessary to function as an independent professional holistic health practitioner. The student will have the skills and the knowledge necessary to work in a variety of settings including, but not limited to, massage clinics , spas , doctors' offices , sporting events and more. Students enrolled in the Holistic Health Practitioner program will complete all the courses in the Massage Therapy program. The student will then continue on into the Holistic Health Practitioner program.
Legal Administrative Assistant: The accelerated program is designed to give you a professionally oriented introduction to the exciting legal field. Our instructors focus on the critical importance of attorney/client confidentiality and responsibilities. You will learn through “hands-on” skill building assignments and professional development in law office etiquette and even attire. This program covers Law Office Procedures, Civil Litigation, Criminal Litigation, Family Law, and Real Estate Law. In the final stages of your study, Milan Institute will give you the opportunity to practice your skills by an externship in a real law office, government agency or other office with legal needs. This will prepare you to easily step into any situation requiring legal administrative assistance immediately after graduation. Currently this program is only offered at the Boise Campus.
Massage Therapy: The Massage Therapy program is designed to prepare the student to function competently as a professional massage therapist in a variety of settings. The unique curriculum contains the best of Eastern, Western, Ancient modalities, as well as the latest skills and techniques. Students will receive the hands-on training and knowledge required to open their own business or to function effectively in massage clinics, spas, hospitals, doctors' offices, sporting events and more. Upon completion of the program, students will have met the requirements to be eligible to sit for the National Certification Exam given by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
Medical Assisting: Medical Assisting duties vary from office to office, but normally include taking vitals signs and information , taking medical histories , preparing patients for examinations , and assisting during the appointment. Medical assistants may also take blood , give injections, and perform similar duties. A medical assistant must be comfortable working with patients, doctors and front office staff. This fast growing career is in demand. The quick completion time makes this a popular program among students with a limited amount of time in which to complete a degree.
Optical Technician: The Optical Technician program is designed to prepare the student for an entry-level support position with an ophthalmologist , optometrist , optical laboratory or dispensary . The program includes ophthalmic terminology and the principles of human visual behavior , its treatment and correction . Learning how to use the lensometer, measure and fabricate lenses, as well as the selection of frames and alignment is covered in the training. This is only available on the La Mesa campus.
Pharmacy Technician: The Pharmacy Technician program prepares the student for integration into a community pharmacy or hospital pharmacy environment in an entry-level position as a registered pharmacy technician . The program covers a variety of topics, including daily pharmacy operational procedures, weight and measurement systems, pharmacology, ethics, cash register operations, keyboarding, poison control, pharmacy computer operations, prescription processing, compounding, inventory control, pharmaceutical mathematics and more.
